You know the rut. It is that comfortable place we sometimes stay in because we are either afraid to move forward or we do not know how. The rut is safe because it offers us familiarity like an old comfortable sweat shirt. Maybe we are in the rut because someone told us we couldn’t do any better or we weren’t worthy of something more. Staying in or leaving your rut is a personal decision, only you can decide when it is time for change.
What are the benefits of staying in your rut? Yes, it is familiar but are you happy? That is the important question. If you are happy then perhaps you aren’t really in a rut. If you are wanting to get out of your rut, does the thought of moving forward bring forth feelings of doubt? What can you do to change those feelings? I always go back to affirmations. If you are afraid to try something new or struggling to move forward in your life, positive affirmations are a wonderful way to remind yourself of your goal. I have mentioned these before and can not say enough about how powerful they are. Leave an affirmation of your intention beside your bed, where you get ready for work, where you prepare your meal, in your car, at work and wherever else you may see it on a regular basis. It is up to YOU to pull yourself out of your rut but you really need to put yourself in a positive frame of mind to do so.
YOU have a choice for your own happiness, YOU have the power to create your life the way you want it to be. If you are ready to get out of your rut, by all means, take the step to make changes in your life….it is all up to YOU. : )
